How much does it cost to replace a single AirPod? (2026)

Replacing one single AirPod in the Netherlands costs between €33.80 and €99, depending on where you buy. A separate charging case costs between €23.80 and €109. Apple charges the highest price for a brand-new part, private sales are priced inconsistently but come without warranty, and refurbished is the most affordable route with warranty. Apple: the price ceiling

Apple sells individual replacement earbuds and cases through its service channel. For the standard AirPods (2nd, 3rd and 4th generation) you pay €79 per earbud, for all Pro generations €99. A replacement charging case costs €69 to €109, depending on the case type. If your set is still eligible for battery service, that costs €59 per earbud or case.

Important to know: loss and theft are not covered by AppleCare+ for AirPods. If you have lost an earbud, you always pay the full replacement price — even with AppleCare+.

Marktplaats and Vinted: cheap, but without a safety net

Buying from private sellers can work out cheaper: single AirPods 2 earbuds start at around €34, Pro 2 earbuds run up to €109 for items listed "as new". On the other hand, you almost never get a warranty, the battery condition has not been tested, and you have to check yourself whether the generation and variant match exactly — a USB-C earbud, for example, does not work with a Lightning case. Counterfeits are also a real risk with private sales.

Bol.com and Amazon: not an option for individual parts

Neither platform sells original single earbuds or separate charging cases. You will only find complete new sets at full price, or non-original accessories such as silicone tips — which do not solve the "lost one earbud" problem.

What about repairing?

AirPods are practically impossible to repair. iFixit gave the latest generation a repairability score of 0 out of 10: the batteries are glued in and the housing cannot be opened without damage. Dutch repair shops do offer AirPods repair pages, but do not publish concrete prices — in practice, "repair" comes down to replacing the entire earbud or the entire case.

The refurbished route: only replace what you are missing

At Earbuds Restore you buy exactly the part you have lost or broken: a left earbud, a right earbud or a separate charging case. Every part is original, tested and comes with a 12-month warranty. Earbuds start at €33.80, cases at €23.80 — a fraction of Apple's rate, with a safety net that private sales do not offer.

Frequently asked questions

Can I buy one single AirPod from Apple?

Yes, via Apple's service channel. You pay €79 per earbud for standard AirPods and €99 for Pro models. Loss is not covered by AppleCare+, so you always pay the full replacement rate.

Will a replacement earbud work with my existing set?

Yes, as long as the earbud is of exactly the same generation and variant as your remaining set. A Pro 2 earbud does not work with a Pro 3 set, and a USB-C variant does not work together with a Lightning case.

Is a second-hand earbud from Marktplaats safe?

It can be, but you run three risks: counterfeits, a wrong generation or variant, and an untested battery — almost always without warranty. A refurbished earbud with a 12-month warranty removes those three risks.
