Does a single earbud work with my existing set?

Absolutely! A single AirPod automatically pairs with your existing charging case and other AirPod. You just need to place the new AirPod in the case and pair it again.

How do I know which generation I have?

You can find the model number on your charging case or via Settings > Bluetooth > Airpods on your iPhone. See our help page "Which Airpods do I have?" for more information.
